Nakisha and Hank met in 2014 when they were playing soccer on the same team. We were so moved by her determination, unselfish spirit and kindness. Nakisha has cerebral palsy and has been living independently for 20 years, but when it came time for a new wheelchair, insurance declined to pay for her seat elevator , putting her continued independence in jeopardy. One of our generous sponsors, DME, asked if The Hank Poore Foundation would consider helping to purchase the seat elevator, and we said YES! We cannot think of a better person to be able to award this grant to, and It was our honor and privilege to be there as she received her new wheelchair. Your support of The Hank Poore Foundation is truly changing lives!
